For anyone who planted a seed
early in the season, whether in a garden or
a window box it doesn't get any better than
this. The crops are in and its time to reap
and savor those wonderful rewards.
DEADLINE CONTESTS
SIZZLER & CRAISINS "GREAT AMERICAN SALAD
SHOWDOWN"
Enter a winning salad recipe using
Craisins Dried Cranberries and have it
served at Sizzlers salad bars for a year
plus a chunk of change.
Recipes will be evaluated by a panel
of four Sizzler judges based on the
following criteria:
• Taste – overall taste and flavor
(20%)
• Originality – creative use of pantry
ingredients and Craisins (20%)
• Appearance – visually appealing (20%)
• Viable in a restaurant environment –
appearance and taste maintained for 60
minutes on the Salad Bar (20%)
• Clarity of recipe instructions (20%) –
directions and preparation easily followed.
Some voting involved.
PRIZES:
One Contest Winner will receive $1,000, free
Sizzler Salad Bar for a year (awarded as a
$600 Sizzler Gift Card), a set of six
Sizzler Steak Knives, a Sizzler Chef Coat,
and their salad and name featured on Salad
Bars at participating Sizzler Restaurants in
the U.S. from 11/21/11 – 1/2/12. Approximate
retail value (“ARV”) of the Contest Winner’s
prize package is approximately $1,651.
Two Finalists will each receive $500, a set
of six Sizzler Steak Knives, and a Sizzler
Chef’s Coat (ARV $551).

Martha White is challenging you once
again to send in an original recipe
prepared with at least one pouch of
Martha White Muffin Mix.
The
Grand Prize Winner will be determined on or
about March 19, 2012, by the combined scores
of the Initial Judging Scores (70%) and the
Online Voting Scores (30%).

Start with one of your own great
healthy recipes and select the region in
which you want to compete. Enter your
recipe into the Healthy Recipe Analyzer
to determine if it meets the nutritional
requirements to be included in the
voting for the semifinal cook-off. If
your recipe receives a score of C+ or
higher, it will be officially entered.
Voting begins. Up to 48 people with the
highest-rated
recipes will qualify to compete in
person. The three top qualifiers from
each region
will travel to their Semi-Final recipe
cook-offs.

Each of the four (4) Finalists will

INTERNATIONAL ALGAE FOOD
DEVELOPMENT COMPETITION
This is an international
competition that has three parts
- landscape design, productions
and food. CCC of course is
spotlighting food and recipes.
You are asked to create menus,
new foods and food products
incorporating algae as a
featured ingredients. Food
Development Ideas and Categories
include: main course. dessert,
ice cream, cereal, nutrition
drinks, appetizer, chips, snacks
bread, pasta, soup, stew dips
condiments, salad gourmet and
fresh algae. An international
judicial panel with expertise in
consumer behavior, food and
restaurants will select
finalists in each category.
The entry fee is waived for CCC
members.
On the online registration form
select "$00 for scholarships by
invitation: no charge".

Over
$10,000 in cash prizes will be
