Nabisco 100 Calorie Packs Honors 100 Women for 'Everyday Extraordinary' Actions
Contest Winners From Across the Country Honored With Chance to Appear in National Magazine Spread and Trip to Los Angeles for Once-in-A-Lifetime Experience
EAST HANOVER, N.J., June 30 This past weekend, 100 women whose everyday actions make an extraordinary impact on those around them were honored as the winners of the first-ever Nabisco 100 Calorie Packs "Celebrating 100 Extraordinary Women" contest. The contest launched in February and asked people to nominate themselves or a woman they know, in 100 words or less, whose everyday work benefits her family or local community in an extraordinary way. It generated thousands of entries nationwide.
"From helping military widows to raising money in support of ill children, it was amazing to learn what women in this country do to initiate positive changes in their communities and the lives of others," says Sheldon Cummings, senior brand manager for Nabisco 100 Calorie Packs. "Nabisco 100 Calorie Packs is privileged to honor these unique women in a way that will hopefully inspire others."
The Star Treatment
In October, America will get to "meet" these extraordinary women when a two-page spread featuring them will appear across national Time Inc. magazines, including PEOPLE, Entertainment Weekly, In Style, Real Simple, Cooking Light and Health.
The photo shoot for the spread took place during an extraordinary evening celebration of the selected women at the popular X BAR in Los Angeles. Prior to that, the women enjoyed an afternoon at one of the nation's most "extraordinary" events -- the Los Angeles Film Festival. There, they attended a private VIP screening and Q&A of the new independent women's interest film "Phoebe in Wonderland," with stars Elle Fanning (Dakota Fanning's younger sister) in her feature film debut, Bill Pullman and writer-director Daniel Barnz. Scheduled for theatrical release this fall which coincides with the timing of the Time Inc. magazine spreads, the film also stars Felicity Huffman, Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott.
