Five Grill Masters Each Win a $5,000 Backyard Makeover
ORRVILLE, Ohio, April 28 -- Today, Crisco(R), makers of the Simple Touch(TM) no-stick cooking spray with Click & Go nozzle, announced the inaugural inductees into the Crisco Grilling Hall of Fame. Five original entries were selected through a combination of online votes and an expert panel of judges to receive a spot among the grilling elite and a $5,000 backyard makeover. From salads, to pizza and even desserts, these "at-home" grillmasters showcased their creative recipes and grilling expertise to earn their place in the Crisco Grilling Hall of Fame.
Since August, home chefs across the country honed their grilling skills to perfect their best recipe incorporating Crisco no-stick sprays. Drawing inspiration from grilling classics, international food and multi-generational family recipes helped these five amateur grillers win top honors. About the Crisco Grilling Hall of Fame
To enter the contest, consumers were asked to share an original grilling recipe that incorporated a Crisco No-Stick Cooking Spray, a brief essay explaining why they created the recipe and why they should be inducted into the Crisco Grilling Hall of Fame and a photo of the prepared recipe. Recipes submitted from October through December underwent an initial round of judging based on creativity, ease of preparation and taste. Essays were judged on creativity and clarity of thought and were equally weighted against the recipe scores. Americans were able to cast their votes from February through April for the best recipes and hometown heroes in a nationwide www.GrillingHallofFame.com online vote. The five grand prize winners with the highest point totals overall were awarded a $5,000 backyard makeover and recognition as a Crisco Grilling Hall of Fame grill master.
