.Ex-Wolverine Chad Henne wins contest with super recipe
The Detroit News
Chad Henne cooked up several winning plays for the Dolphins this season. He did it again Thursday -- this time from the kitchen.
The former Michigan standout quarterback won the Super Bowl Recipe Playoff III on the "Rachel Ray Show" on Thursday morning with his grilled steak, potatoes and asparagus dish. He beat out Panthers linebacker Jon Beason (pork chop parmigiana) and Giants offensive tackle Kareem McKenzie (taco soup).
All three players prepared and cooked their dishes on-site and pop singer Nick Lachey served as the judge. Henne, sporting a No. 1 Dolphins jersey, was awarded a Super Bowl Recipe Playoff ring and a leather recliner embroidered with the contest logo.
Jaguars quarterback David Garrard won last year's contest with his buffalo chicken dip.
Henne, who played for the Wolverines from 2004-07, had a breakout season for the Dolphins. He passed for 2,878 yards and 12 touchdowns in 14 games after filling in for injured Chad Pennington.
