Aarti Sequeira on Aarti Party – My Life is Never Going to be the Same
NEW YORK (LALATE) – As Aarti Party starts Sunday, Aarti Sequeira says her life will never be the same. But for fans of Aarti Party, Sloppy Bombay Joes to Creamy Pistachio Pops to Massaged Kale Salad might very well change America’s kitchens and the way we think about food. The Food Network says that its new entry combines “the familiar with Indian culinary influences to create mouthwatering meals.” And yet, is America ready for the change?
Aarti says the news the reality that has yet to set in. “I remember standing there, staring at the billboard [of myself], wearing exactly the same top (by happenstance), and watching out of the corner of my eye as people striding down the busy New York streets stopped and did a double-take. … “I did it. My life is never going to be the same.” “
Aarti says she’s not ready for the attention that fame brings, a virtual procession of websites preparing to attack every physical flaw a host has to offer. “I don’t want to be swayed by blogs obsessed with my [body]… or my weight, or by the holes punched in my door (there’s a great story behind that).”
And yet, fans can’t wait. Unlike other reality tv show competitions, this one appears to have chosen a star who fans embrace. With nearly two thousand emails and six hundred comments within hours of winning her title, Aarti says she is blessed. Aarti was born in India, raised in Dubai and lives in Los Angeles. She explains the weirdest thing she’ve ever eaten is “Sheep’s brains. My mum tricked me into thinking we were having scrambled eggs for dinner. Yep, she’s a tricky one. One bite though, and the jig was up.”
Aarti says simply of this new challenge in her life that “as I wax on about how excited I am, about how I feel like I’ve done well for my family, about it feeling so surreal.”
